When is a Benefit not a Benefit??

At my full time job things are getting pretty bad. A lot of B.S. Changes and not addressing the real issues there. As some may or may not know, I work over at Midcoast full time when i am not in the helo. Their latest bunch of b.s. is our new attendance policy. Why I know any business needs a formal policy this one kinda "bad"?
What they have done is said if you have an medical appointment and want to use sick leave notify them 24 hrs or more in advance and it is ok. If you call in sick you get an Occurrence ( a demerit for all of us old timers ) They give you all kinds of "Occurrences". I will not elaborate on what all you get them for. But, if you get 9 in 12 months, you can be fired.
What I am curious about is when you are given a benefit and you are Punished (receive occurrences) is it still a benefit?
What do you think??

The last couple of weeks

Wow,

The past couple of weeks have been crappy flying weather. I know the Dr. I am flying with is getting antsy (sp). I am hoping to get my other student up and doing more solo work to get him finished.
The new student inquiries have slowed down as typical for the time of the year. I had to turn a few away cause of the weight limit of our a/c.
I am in a spot right now, I want to get more flying in but, It seems like I have to leave where I am to get the time cause the biz here is not getting any bigger.
